Our Mission

Our mission is to form mutually beneficial partnerships with small and diverse businesses that allow us to deliver superior and innovative products and services and superb customer service, which ultimately increases shareholder value.

We are committed to creating effective competition utilizing all possible sources. We will actively seek targeted small and diverse businesses and provide them the opportunity to partner with The Home Depot to provide competitively priced, high quality goods and services to our customers.

Our Program Benefits

Our Supplier Diversity program provides numerous benefits. Not only is there an avenue to engage THD buyers directly with your product and/or service offering through our state-of-the art supplier diversity portal, but The Home Depot provides numerous opportunities for business owners to participate in Supplier Diversity-led events and provides sponsorships for supplier development opportunities hosted by advocacy organizations that support small, woman, minority, and veteran owned businesses.

In addition, our Supplier Diversity program is bolstered by our involvement with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and numerous other advocacy organizations throughout the United States that support the growth and development of small, minority, woman and veteran owned businesses. Because we are always on the lookout for innovative products and services, we not only hold memberships with advocacy organizations, we attend local, regional, and national supplier diversity and small business trade shows and chamber events. Our Application Portal

In partnership with SupplierGATEWAY®, an MBE Supplier Data Management Solutions firm, we designed a state-of-the-art potential supplier application system and sourcing opportunities database. We were determined to provide more than a registration portal. As a result, we created a system that allows potential suppliers to access the appropriate buyer within 72 hours of submission and receive a timely response from that buyer within 60 days.

We encourage you to leverage this process wisely – take the time to tell your story in the application. You may upload a comprehensive profile, including photos, catalog links, service licenses, records, as well as tailored presentations that you create specifically for The Home Depot.

We’re often asked to advise suppliers on how they can be successful. Our advice is as follows.

1. Follow the process
  As you can imagine, our average buyer literally receives 1,000s of product and service proposals and invitations for meetings each year, so we have designed a process to place you in direct contact with the actual decision-maker for the product and/or service that you sell.
2. Do your homework
  Research our company and know that you are providing a solution that we actually need. You can begin your research right here on our corporate web site. Many firms want to sell us things, few firms want to take the time to offer us solutions specific to our business.
3. Differentiate yourself
  With rational, fact-based detail, be prepared to identify what sets you apart from the many competitors in the marketplace.
